One of the biggest downfalls of any leader is not knowing how to properly run a team. If you are looking to take your business to the next level or for your team to excel in company goals and standards you have to know how to manage your team.
You have to ask yourself a few things like:
“What are you looking to accomplish?”
“Who on your team needs a closer watch than others?”
“How are you going to maintain a healthy but productive environment?”
All these and many more are things you should consider when looking to manage your team.
No one likes a micromanager. Learn how to trust your team. Allow them to utilize the skills they have without you constantly questioning their approach. Having a diverse workspace allows for creativity and an increase in values and ethics. Don’t be afraid to let someone you see as a future leader develop those skills. You should never dim the light of another person to try and make yourself look better.
For all this to play out as smoothly as possible, you need to establish proper expectations that are measurable and attainable. Reward and publicly congratulate your teammates when they accomplish certain tasks. Being a leader means you are hitting your goals and leading from the front. Take the initiative and understand that running a team is a privilege not many get the chance to do.
